You were so much more than a Father ~ you were my best friend. Thank you!
Vernon's Obituary may be found at: http://countrygraphics.us/VernonLdeTar.html
You are listening to..
Vernon deTar on the organ with William Primrose playing the viola. This was recorded at the Church of the Ascension, 5th Avenue at 10th Street, New York, NY.
William Primrose was Uncle Bill to me.. my God Father. I remember the day he and hios wife arrived in New York to visit us and slept in the brand new Nash with seats which converted to (almost) a bed. This was right on the streets of New York in Greenwich Village - probably in the late 1940's. This is Bach's 'Litanei auf das Fest Aller Seelen'.
I was at the Church when they recorded it and I still feel a tear in my eye when I listen to it.
